CityVentures Ecosystem Launch

  • Better Space 127 Farringdon Road London, England, EC1M 3HE United Kingdom (map)

The Centre for Creativity enabled by AI (CebAI) and other colleagues at Bayes have been working closely with the university’s start-up incubator, CityVentures, and global entrepreneur network, Canopy Community, to help develop a new start-up ecosystem in the heart of the City of London. The aim is to build an active community for tech start-ups both from within the University and the wider City of London, particularly providing access for under-represented entrepreneurs. The ambitious initiative is bringing together resources from across the University with a number of Worshipful Companies, the City of London Corporation and other interested commercial organisations all in support of a cohesive local start-up culture.

The launch event is happening as part of London Tech week and will be held on the 7th floor of Finsbury Square, overlooking the city. From 4:15pm, the Lord Mayor, Michael Mainelli, will host a private VIP reception to mark the new start-up ecosystem designed to address issues of social mobility through entrepreneurship.

From 18:00 a Demo Night will take place featuring hand-picked tech start-ups competing for the opportunity to win a pitch at Europe’s largest tech festival, Web Summit. There will also be the opportunity to network with entrepreneurs, investors and educators from the University and the City of London area. RSVP here.

Please email Vyvyen.De-Veer@city.ac.uk for VIP access.
