Ladies Lunch : Good Mood Food

Did you know dehydration is the biggest cause of fatigue, our gut bacteria can virtually hijack our brain and that morning coffee may be responsible for afternoon mood swings?

From nutrient deficiencies contributing to low mood to the imbalance of certain fats making us feel blue, the food we eat has a big impact on our health and how we feel in ourselves.

We asked BANT-registered nutritionist Eva Humphries to break down the essentials of harnessing food for better mood.

Don’t worry, Eva has assured us coffee can remain on the menu, it’s just a case of timing it right.

Thanks to Eva’s relaxed take on nutrition, this talk promises to be full of useable nutrition information that can be implemented with ease.

Here is what you can expect to learn:

- the essential nutrients needed for better mood and the foods that contain them

- building mental resilience with food - yes, this is achievable

- realistic advice to help you get started Plus, you’ll have a chance to ask questions.

Ladies Lunch is an inclusive event that is open to people of all genders, however it has a special focus on women centred experiences. We ask that everyone is mindful of their privilege and give space to more marginalised groups.

Ladies Lunch: How to eat to improve energy

Do you ever wake up in the morning and think to yourself: “I hope I spend the day fatigued. Please just take my energy and ability to concentrate right now.”

It’s a pretty ludicrous notion, isn’t it? Yet the vast majority of us are stuck in a loop of low energy thanks to default nutrition and lifestyle habits. The worst thing is, we often don’t even notice we are in the grips of these energy-stealing practices.

Let me introduce you to the latest science on how to have more energy via food. I’m Eva Humphries, a BANT registered nutritionist with a super realistic take on healthy eating.

This relaxed talk focuses on the best science-backed ideas that may help us improve our energy.

Don’t worry, you won’t be getting a scary nutrition lecture. This approach focuses on presenting valid nutritional science but breaking it down into easy-to-implement chunks that can be effortlessly integrated into day-to-day life.

Here is what this session will cover:

  • Why am I always tired? Some potential causes of constantly feeling knackered

  • Nutrient deficiencies, factors and practices that could be stealing your energy

  • The low down on what to eat to feel good every day

  • A quick look at sleep

  • Tonnes of useable tips and tricks to boost energy
